Biography
Ahmad Rahnema Alavi is Professor of Finance at IESE Business School. He has been the Chair of the
Financial Management Department and the holder of the Fuel Freedom Chair for Energy and Social
Development at IESE from 2010 to 2020.
Prof. Rahnema has previously lectured at more than 20 universities and business schools in the USA,
Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. He is the author and co-author of 5 books. His articles have been
published in specialized journals as well as general and business publications. His research has mainly dealt with corporate finance, international finance, sustainable finance, and risk management.
He is co-editor of the International Journal of Finance Education, a member of the editorial board of the
journal Harvard Deusto: Business Review. He was the President of The Spanish Financial Forum of
London (UK) from 2014-16.
Prof. Rahnema is partner at Clarkson Hyde Asesores Financieros a consulting firm in Barcelona. He has
worked on a variety of consulting assignments for several leading Spanish and international companies.
