Biography
Ozan M. Özkural is the Founder and Managing Partner of Tanto Capital Partners, a London-based boutique investment bank focused on global commodities, structured financing, energy, and the energy transition.
With more than two decades of experience in global finance, he previously held senior roles at Merrill Lynch London (later Bank of America), where he led emerging markets high-yield and structured financing. Over the course of his investment banking career, he has originated and overseen over US$50 billion in transactions across international markets.
Before founding Tanto, Mr. Özkural served as Head of Emerging Markets at VTB Capital, directing advisory, fixed income and equity origination, commodities, and financing activities while managing a multi-billion-dollar balance sheet. He began his career at Unilever UK, later completing his chartered management accounting qualification.
Mr. Özkural holds a BA in Management Studies from the University of Nottingham and is an ACMA/GCMA charter holder. He serves on the Foreign Policy Leadership Council of the Brookings Institution and the William Pitt Group of Chatham House, and has held board roles in European fintech and education.
He is a frequent keynote speaker and contributor to outlets including Bloomberg, CNBC, BusinessWeek, Harvard Business Review, and the University of Cambridge.
